Re: [MT_E and I] EA's to list on a group Black List
If enough other's agree, maybe we can get our moderator to set up a Black
List (fraudulent EAs) in our files section, to which we can all contribute
our "disappointments" with EAs we have bought and paid for.

Re: [MT_E and I] EA's to list on a group Black List
Wow -- lots of you out there really agree on the necessity of a black list
-- we've all been burned too many times.
I really want the Black List to be implemented right to make it very easy to
add to, and especially to consult before buying anything. I really don't
have the knowledge to do this in other than a crude way. Is there any
expert out there to insure that it is done right the first time? I've been
a user and creator of many yahoogroups over the years, but I don't recall
seeing anything similar to what we really need here done anywhere else --
else I would just copy it as I hate to invent anything new when there was
already a satisfactory solution already in existence.
One thing I see as important. Obviously producers of for-sale EAs and
other Forex systems won't like this, and will try to stop it. And I don't
want any of them to try and sue or even threaten to sue anybody for libel
somehow. So I think contributions should be by people who bought the
product, and feel burned by it, and want to give their professional opinion
on it which is their constitutional right to do under our free speech laws.
A contributor should not be the producer of a competitive product trying to
bad mouth their competition either directly or through a fake shill
either. I've seen that on Forex Bastards, aka Forex Peace Army these days.
So let's do this right the first time, with the right set of guidelines for
contributors to both protect them, and to make it worth while for the rest
of us to use.
And maybe to be perfectly fair and balanced, we need a matching White List
to include items reported by users which were good, rather than bad. Maybe
there won't be too many, but why not have it planned for.

Re: [MT_E and I] EA's to list on a group Black List
Hi,
Personally I have only paid for one EA. It delivers what it promises. But then again, it does not promise more than every experienced trader would expect from a robot. I do not want to discuss this EA here (or any commercial EA for that matter). I'll leave that for our upcoming review initiative.
You can purchase a robot which servers drinks, vacuums floors etc. But it will never replace a real butler. Not that I have ever had a real butler, but I'm still pretty sure I'm right...

Re: [MT_E and I] EA's to list on a group Black List
Hi Charles,
I replied yesterday but somehow my email never made it to the group
site........
Hi Charles,
Yes I am a Moderator/owner one of 4 of us, it seems I am the only
one still moderating though.
I'm at least 14 hours out of sync with the members in the US.
Any member can create a folder and a header name, & upload their
experts or indicators etc.
I have created a folder in the files section called Black Listed
Commercial Experts, I hope this format is suitable if not feel free
to edit it.
People can start a file under the folder header and name the file
after the Expert name in question, in the files contents which are
uploaded they could use a simple text file like "notepad" to explain
the what's, why's and wherefore's about the product.
I know people might be a little upset when they create this file, I
know I would be if I paid good money to have my account trashed by
an "expert". I guess we need to temper this with an honest appraisal
of what others are likely to experience if they tread the same path.
We are a private group not a public one, so I think (hope) we cannot
be held legally liaible for private opinions expressed within our own
private group.

[MT_E and I] Moderation help
Gerry,
Some time back, in the MetaTrader group, you mentioned that there used
to be more moderators, but you were the only one left now.
Is it something I could help you with? I have no idea what's involved
with Yahoo! groups, but would be willing to help some.
I trade and work full time, so I can't be full time, but I'd be willing.
I'm in California (Pacific time).
