Yeah, I have had alpha running for a couple days now and still have yet to close a trade. At least it's finally sitting in the positive with open orders, but the DD had gotten pretty darn high there for awhile.
Definitely keeping a close eye on beta however, as you can see by my result postings it's pretty noteworthy so far.

I am not getting the same good results with the latest version of FXI-Alpha EA (the one you compiled last).
Are you sure you have not changed anything else than the hedging mechanism?
Regards

Looks ok, but those open trades with a 2k negative always get me worried, i am considering putting it live on interbank fx mini account.
anyone testing with strategy 1.

Hi Sam, statment attached - I know its too early to get excited and all, but I can hardly contain my excitement looking at the way this EA has been performing across different brokers. I am seriously considering letting this EA lose on a new 10 k Lie account

Not right away though, sometime in November or october. Until then, lets watch how the demos continue for some more time
Warm Regards

Hi
I have just noticed that there is a defect in the hedging process.
the ea is not calculating correctly the number of lots required to hedge an order.
I will release a new version soon to fix this

Hi guys
Some of you might remember that few months ago the forum was excited about the fxi-alpha ea which basically trade using Fibonacci levels.
interest seemed to have died, recently i have picked up the work again and learning from our past mistakes we do have a new version.
firstly we are looking for testers, forward testing and the results should be posted in this forum,
target of tests,
1. different brokers in different time zones
2. different strategies, the ea currently uses 2 strategies,
simple strategy: the ea opens at least 6 trades all the time 3 buys and 3 sells,
trend manager strategy: the ea opens only 3 trades depending on the direction of the trend if the trend is going up it opens buys only and if the trend is going down it open sell only, the disadvantage of these second strategy is your orders might not get filled for days (few trades but more sure)
3. hedging strategy: you will find that the ea always hedge every open position, this is because from previous experience we used to experience large drawdowns which were unacceptable, might be ok in demo where you can demo with large sums of money but unacceptable in real account where real money is involved. we need to test various hedging levels, using different values.
What to do next?
1. Install the ea attached in this email, simply unzip the file and rename it to .exe (my google account cannot email ..exe files)
2. Choose the directory of your metatrader platform during installation, we prefer that you open a separate demo account in order to keep a nice track record.
3. Once its installed open the file in experts\files\ conf\fxialphatra der.properties and have a good read. ( as a programmer I am used to powerful languages like java, the way mql4 language handles parameters and its inability to support oo technology makes my stomach sick, inorder to avoid confusion in the ea code i have designed a new way of reading properties into an ea, just make sure that you read the configuration file and customize it to suit your environment) . Parameters can be changed and take effect immediately without having to redeploy the ea.
4. Dont forget to post results and most importantly ideas to improve the ea.
6. Open the ea attached to to a day chart and use the fxi-alpha.tpl template that you will find in templates directory..
7. Please we want your feed back and comments or feedback should be directed to "Chris " csands (AT) gmail (DOT) com or me. I dont spend much time trading as i have a full time job but i promise to work on an ideas or improvement that you might have as quickly as possible.
Thank you for participating.
PS: recomended for demo only, if used in live environment we are not responsible for your losses (but we might be interested in your profits
